So yesterday was the day that all of the students who were only here for the first semester had to leave. Ayano was already gone (she didn't come back after the Christmas break but went home to Japan instead) and Angela was at her boyfriend Ross' house (plus we never really saw either Angela or Ayano while they were here..) but the remaining three (Martina, Magali and I) had to say farewell to Valentina. It was sad to see her go, but we definitely have enough of her stuff left here to remind us of her.. (She had too much stuff to take home and still be under the weight limits, so all the extra is still here. (Although it does mean that I got a lovely new pair of half pants which I can wear for trampoline!)
Then after dinner, Martina, Magali, John and I all watched Bridget Jones' Diary 2, which was quite good, but definitely not the highlight of the evening.. That came shortly after the movie.. when for whatever reason we were all ridiculously hyper and silly. It all started when Magali and John were going to go outside for a smoke. I don't remember exactly why, but Magali had three cigarettes for some reason, and she had them all in her mouth at the same time. Then a mad chase ensued with Martina and I both trying to stick the cigarettes either in Magali's nose or ears. Also at some point Magali stuck the cigarettes through the roots of two of my dreads and I ended up with cigarette antennae.
Shortly thereafter Magali stood herself up on one of the stools and started playing a rather circus-like march, which caused Martina, John and I to all start following Magali around walking and behaving like monkeys. Thus the all-mokey zoo was born. Following this there was a hostile slipper takeover and my slippers were at various times nearly dropped out my bedroom window. Poor things were scared to death..
Then we finally did get outside so Magali and John could have their smoke where we all ran into Mark (who was also leaving that day, only much much later because his flight didn't actually leave until the next morning. He was planning on taking the last bus to the airport and then just spending the night there because the buses didn't run early enough in the morning and he didn't want to pay for a taxi). We then proceeded to have a "cry-fest" at his departure. There were lots of hugs involved and some very, VERY vocal displays of theatrical "crying". Then it was off to Mark and John's flat to grab Mark's luggage. There Martina and Magali both received presents. Magali got a pair of Mark's pants that he didn't want anymore (they actually fit her quite well too! Although, she did have her original pants on underneath, so they might actually be too big) and Martina got a shirt of Mark's which was horrrrrrendously large. I'm not really sure why Mark had it, because it could definitely have fit at least two and a half of him in it, but Martina seemed to enjoy her new tent.
The walk to the bus station was undertaken in an equally silly fashion and involved lots of yelling, some singing and even some coordinated skipping while singing undertaken by Magali and me. But the silliest part of the night is yet to come. When we got to the stance for the airport bus we all said goodbye to Mark for about the third time that evening. Now, I can't remember the exact circumstances in which this occured, but someone mentioned Mark's pants and Magali felt it necessary to show the bus driver what she looked like with them on (she'd taken them off earlier and had been wearing them around her neck). So she started pulling them on overtop of her own pants. Finally it was time for the bus to depart and we all tore after it waving as we went. John and I, being slightly more sane than Martina and Magali at the moment, just ran back the way we'd come, but Martina and Magali took off across the bus only area and actually followed the bus right out. John and I caught up to them and the bus at the exit and we all took off after it to the nearest traffic light. The four of us weren't quite sure if it would be safe to simply walk across against the light, so there we stood all looking at our watches wondering when the light would change and our chase could resume. Eventually the bus got ahead of us and we started to make our way back home. Once there we all discovered that we were incredibly tired so we all went to bed.
And you know what the best part of the evening was? Everyone was absolutely completely sober! Which goes to show you that you really don't have to drink to have fun. (As I knew all along..)
In other news it was discovered earlier today that a good amount of the wall in one particular corner of the kitchen/living room is growing an entire colony of mold. I was also informed that the university isn't going to do anything about it. Lucky us... No wonder Martina's always feeling sick.
