Siiiiiiiiiiiiigh

So as you all have surely noticed, my ranting page looks rather different. It's not intentional and it's annoying! It changed all on it's own some time after New Year and I don't know how to make it go back to normal because any changes that I make to the template don't seem to actually DO anything. (Plus I only kiiiiiiiiiind of know what I'm doing anyway.) At any rate I'm still trying to either get it back to the way it was, or just find a new template altogether. Problem is I haven't found one that I like better just yet.

In other news, the water heater in one of the flats below mine burst which means that we haven't had any hot water since last Wednesday and won't likely have any hot water until Monday. This wouldn't be sooo bad if the cold water here were just a normal sort of cold, but no, the cold water here is absolutely ICE COLD. Makes washing your face and hands very chilly. Doing the dishes is irksome as well, but at least we can use the kettle for that.

In other other news, the oven tried to kill me last night... I was making baked apples and when they were done and I went to take them out, something inside the oven exploded and sparks flew out at me. The way the ovens work here, the element goes all up the sides of the oven and it's behind a thing of metal, so you can't actually see the element, which means I have no idea if it was just something that managed to get on the element, caught fire and shortly thereafter extinguished itself, or if it's really serious and the next person who looks at the oven wrong is going to die. Either way I'll be making a trip over to the village office in a bit to let them know about it.
