DEZ CAME BACK!!! DEZ CAME BACK!!!!
Ok, now that I am no longer in a state of emotional distraught, I will tell you the story.
So Dez was being annoying, as usual, so Hali put her outside for a while. This was around 2. So about an hour later I was upstairs, so I called for her, but she didn't turn up. I didn't think too much of it since she had only been outside for an hour. Then I went back downstairs and continued working on my organic chem report.. For about another couple hours. (Yuck). So I finally get almost done and in my little "let's walk around a bit so my butt doesn't fall off from numbness" break, I called for Dez again. She still wasn't wanting to come in. At this point I was getting rather worried. Also at this point my mum and Ted got back home from the horse dealy they were at. My mum of course was instantly worried about Dez and started ushering everyone out the door to go look for her. At this point it was about 5:30.
So we all looked, and looked, and looked, and looked, and looked.. And no one could find her. Hali and I even went to the neighbours houses with a picture of her. No one had seen her. We looked for her until it was dark and we had to go inside. We had been planning on going out for dinner that night, but of course, no one really felt up to it. Every time Hali or I walked past a door, we would call for Dez. Still she didn't show up. My mum told hali that we would probably never see her again. I didn't want to believe it, but was beginning to think so too. A little white cat like that would make a tasty lunch to a coyote.
On a side note, while we were still looking for Dez, I walked across the field that connects to my backyard and found a coyote picnic site.. There were bones all over the place. It was gross. One of them was a leg bone, knee and all..
So Hali and I got ready for bed and one last time before I went downstairs I looked out the screen door. She wasn't there. But then I got really close to the glass to see beyond the side of the door, and there she was! As if nothing had happened! Her feet smelled like pine and she took a bath for about an hour. Hali and I figured it was because she had tree sap in her fur. Turns out she had probably decided she didn't like the wind and had spent the whole day in a tree.
I just can't believe she came back. I knew she would have come back if she had been alive, but the chances of a teeny kitten being outside for 9 and a half hours by herself, and coming back, are pretty slim. All I can say is that God answers prayers like nobody's business. :>
