I had fun with mud today. :> Down in the field beyond my house, where they've set up a loam screening operation, there was a mudslide after all the rain we'd had and so along the one side of the road there, there's sooo much mud! A good portion of it has all dried up now, but there was still some really good and squishy stuff. So mum and I had to go down there to put up a bit of barbed wire along some of the fences. (This is in a "nature preservation" area, and so they're all lined with this stupid plastic green stuff. Well, of course, with all that mud sliding everywhere, the green stuff wouldn't let it through, so it pulled the fences halfway down in two spots. And mum wants to put horses in there, so we were doing some repairs so that no one would escape.) When we were finished, mum had to go and do something else that didn't require my help, so I went and played in the mud. :> There was a good amount of mucking back and forth and in some spots the mud was deep enough that i would sink in all the way up to my knees. When I was all finished and my legs from the knee down were entirely caked in mud, I went and sat in the car (legs hanging out side of course) and listened to the radio. While I was there, the guy driving the big machine ( smaller than a bulldozer and waaay bigger than a bobcat, same idea as a bobcat though) came over and offered me his roll of paper towel. And said something along the lines of, before your mum gets back and get's mad at you, or something like that. I told him that she already knew I was playing around in the muck and he drove off again to go move more dirt. (For the record, my mum hadn't expected me to get quite as dirty as I did and she almost wouldn't let me go back in the car once I showed her my legs.)

In the spots where the mud was knee deep, I had earlier been dropping rocks into it. And you didn't even have to throw the rock, just simply let it drop and it would sink down into the mud until it was in twice as deep as the rock was high. It was great. So much perfect mud. :>
