Got back from YC yesterday. It was good, but not quite as good as I had expected, but still. Funfunfunfunfun. :> Hal and I returned home to find MORE trees cut down near our house (grrr) and I've suddenly got library books overdue and such EVEN THOUGH I made sure I wouldn't have this problem before I left. I think the library is out to get me...

And now for some highlights from YC.

Our hotel was in a Forest Lawn type area apparantly (I've never been in Forest Lawn so I wouldn't really know, but it creeped everyone else out). The inside of the hotel was really nice, albeit the elevator didn't work so well and the door took a REALLY long time to open once you got to your floor. It was also really small and since there was 19 of us in total from my Church that went, we had to go up to our rooms in a couple different trips.

Before we'd left, the different rooms that everyone was going to be in got switched around, so Hali was happier because she was going to be with people that she actually knew and I was pretty sure that I was still in a room with 3 other girls, but turns out that I ended up in the same room as Brandy (the youth leader) and since our room only had 1 bed, it was bigger than all the beds in the rooms where there were two. So it was actually quite nice. So our room turned into the neutral zone where both girls and guys could go at the same time.

The first night there, we all kinda skipped supper, so when we finally got back to the hotel at like 11:45 at night, we ordered pizza and stayed up until 1am chowing on pizza that really wasn't all that great. This of course took place in my room, which was kind of annoying seeing as I was tired and really DID want to go to sleep.

Right after we got there, I called Aaron to see if there was any time that we'd be able to hang out. It was actually kind of strange, because for the first time in, oh months probably, he wasn't working on the weekend, so there was actually a good possibility that I'd get to see him. The only problem in the plan was that the schedule for YC was sooooooo ridiculously packed that there wasn't really any time for ME to spare to see him. The first full day there, there was workshops going on from noon till 5, so I figured that then would be alright, and originally we'd all planned on coming back to the hotel for the workshops because in previous years they've all be really boring. This year though, someone had decided to make them a wee bit more interesting, so suddenly we weren't going to be coming back, which made it even harder to find time when Aaron could come visit.

Eventually we found something that worked out. He was going to a show that day, and so after it was over, he was going to drop of his friends who went with him back at their houses and then he was gonna drive over to our hotel and visit for a bit. Unfortunatly for all involved, the time that we got back to the hotel that day was going to be at about 11:00 at night. Aaron said it wasn't a problem, but he was soooo tired and he had to get up early the next day because the St. Albert rodeo was having a worship service and he was playing drums for it. So he only stayed for an hour, but I got to see him at least. The visit would have been even better had all the younger youth type people decided NOT to hang out with us... We got back to the hotel and Aaron was already there waiting and so he came up to the floor that our rooms were on and plunked himself down on a couch while I went to the bathroom. When I got back he was ENTIRELY surrounded by the rest of the youth, even the ones who had never met him ever before, and so I had to sit on the floor until one of them vacated a chair so I could sit down. Grrrr. So yea, Aaron and I both being quite shy didn't really talk all that much with each other, but oh well.

He looks so good! He's lost a little bit of weight since I saw him last and now even Rochelle thinks he's hot. :> Course, I knew it all along... He had super sweet tunnels in his ears too! I think they're slightly bigger than last time too (I'm talking about his stretched ears in case you weren't sure...). And every time I called him (which was several because things kept changing) I forgot to ask him for his band's CD, so he's gonna mail me one. Yay. It's kinda funny, he joined a band called Ender, who was already sponsored or whatever by some record type company, and so he joined just in time for them to make a CD and him to be on it.

So, other highlights of YC. I got to go on a Euro-bungee. You know, the tramps with the bungee cords attached. It was great fun, I pulled off like 8 or 9 TRIPLE backflips. I got to stay on slightly longer than most of the other people, cause the guy wanted to see if I could do a quadruple flip, but by that time I was getting too tired and couldn't do it. I don't think it's possible to do one on there anyway because you don't go high enough for the slower rotation. Either way, I was one of the only people who could do a triple. The only problem with a euro-bungee is that if you don't land standing straight up, you get pushed around a bit and the harness gives you a heimlich maneuver. So now I've got a great big welt on my stomach and it really hurts. :< It's not as ugly as it was yesterday though. And it's not even a bruise, like it would be with most normal people. It's a great big HUGE blood blister. Or rather, a collection of them. Either way, it makes for an interesting conversation piece. I'm just glad I don't bruise as easily as my mum, because if I did, my ENTIRE stomach would have been black. Yuck.

And let's see. What else was good. Hrmm... Meh, can't think of anything fantastic just at the moment, so I shall be going now.
